The "Lindemann" Collection (private sale circa. 1997).
Interestingly enough this block Position 9-10 / 19-20 shows the constant plate flaw, above "C" of "CANADA", a variety that appears on all stamps in the last two columns of the sheet in all printings from 1864 onward. Additionally, the lower right stamp also shows the "Close Shave" variety, a noticeable light area in the Prince's chin.
Unitrade value is $125,000 (as two pairs) if the 150% premium for Original Gum is factored in, without value added for the plate varieties.
ONE OF THE VERY FEW IMPERFORATE MULTIPLES OF THE ENTIRE DECIMAL ISSUE THAT STILL RETAINS ORIGINAL GUM.

HALF PENNY AND ONE CENT 8TCii + variety,A superb trial colour plate proof block of six printed in black on card mounted india paper, vertical SPECIMEN overprint in carmine and displaying the full plate imprint in left margin, proving it originated from the plate of 120 subjects (Positions 13-14 / 37-38). Position 26 (right proof in middle pair) shows very clearly the characteristics of the elusive Strong Re-entry with doubling in "PE" of "PENCE", upper and lower left vertical frames, etc. A remarkable block, VF+
The elusiveness of this plate variety, first mentioned in Fred Jarrett's handbook (1929) only to be rediscovered recently (2015), can be explained by the fact it is only found on the much scarcer plate of 120 subjects. Most known proofs of the Half penny come from sheets of 100, where the two left columns (which included the variety) were removed to produce a plate size suitable for perforating Canada's first perforated issue in 1858.

ADMIRAL PROOFS An extraordinary Engraved Progressive Proof - THE MASTER DIE - measuring 17.75 x 18mm and printed in dark greyish brown on india paper 20.5 x 23mm, displaying the completed central vignette and surrounding frame but without boxed numerals and denomination tablet at foot; vertical broken crease at right and gummed slightly penetrating the paper, immaterial for this exceedingly rare item, which is to the best of our knowledge, the only one extant in private hands. In our opinion, the most important of all Admiral issue proofs, Fine
A similar Master Die Proof currently resides permanently at Library and Archives Canada, as noted in George Marler's "The Admiral Issue of Canada" handbook, Figure 1.1, pages 20-21, reads: "... it is the upper part of the design that was considered to be common to all of the seven values and accordingly, it followed that it was necessary to engrave by hand on the die of each denomination:
i) the stems of the leaves;
ii) the numerals and numeral boxes;
iii) the words showing the denomination;
iv) the horizontal and diagonal lines of shading, etc.
v) the remainder of the frame.
It is among these elements of the design that minor differences between one denomination and another are to be found."
AN INCREDIBLE MASTER DIE PROOF, UTILIZED BY THE ENGRAVER FOR ALL ADMIRAL ISSUE DENOMINATIONS THAT WERE PRODUCED OVER ITS LONG LIFESPAN.
